Bellingham 7, Mount Baker 6

The Mountaineers scored twice in the bottom of the sixth, and twice more in the bottom of the seventh, but came up one run shy against the Bayhawks. Freshman righty Alden Scott pitched the complete game for Bellingham, and he struck out nine batters without walking anyone. Junior Owen Rasmussen led the Bayhawk offense with three hits, two runs scored and two stolen bases. Senior Brady West went 3-for-3 for Mount Baker, and junior Braven Nason knocked in two runs and had two hits including his second triple of the season.

The Lions were down 3-0 for the majority of the game, scored two runs in the sixth to make it closer, and then erupted for nine runs in the seventh inning nail down the victory. Walks, hit batters, and errors caused the collapse for the Mariners who had been playing extremely well up to that point. Lynden senior left fielder Campbell Nolte blasted a double into the left-center field gap to score three runs as part of the big inning. River Langstraat pitched four and 1/3 innings scoreless innings of relief for the Lions to pick up the victory, and Lane Simonsen clubbed two doubles. Sehome senior catcher Carson Neff reached base three times, with a single, a double and a hit-by-pitch.

Trojan pitcher Jonah Aase had another masterful performance on the mound, this time hurling a no-hitter in a five-inning contest, in which he walked just two batters and struck out nine. It was sophomore southpaw’s third win of the season, and the 12th in his brilliant, young career. He has also now totaled 43 strikeouts and has a microscopic ERA of 0.41. Meridian also had plenty of offense as Hunter Jones, Ian Forbes, Jacob Amundson and Silas Berschauer each racked up two hits.

Golden Eagle senior Dylan Strom continued his superb candidacy for League MVP as he homered, doubled, knocked in three runs and threw a one-hit shut out while striking out eight batters. Ferndale had six extra base hits in total, with Jake Mason hitting a pair of doubles himself. The Lyncs got their base hit from Lane Dykstra.

The Seahawks scored all 12 of their runs in the second inning en route to their big win over the Borderites. Blaine scored its run in the first inning when Hunter Vezzetti doubled in Mason Akre. Akre reached base all three times he came up to bat.

The Bulldogs made quick work of the Pioneers, allowing just two base runners and zero hits in a five inning contest. Freshman shortstop Mathew Blake and junior catcher Daemion Perez both reached base via walks for Nooksack Valley.
