THE FEATURED FOUR

Lane Heeringa – Senior – Running Back/Inside Linebacker

It’s going to be pretty tough for Heeringa to have much of an encore this season. After rushing for over 1,000 yards, and leading his team on defense, his skills speak for themselves. Unbelievable drive to get better all the time, and his motor never turns off. He wants to be in on every play, and that just makes the Lions a better team.

Dane Gatterman – Senior – Tackle

He knows how to handle every blocking situation, and he does it with a nastiness that you just can’t teach. Secured at the left tackle position, which has really been a bright spot for Lynden over the years, and Gatterman ranks right up there with all of them.

Collin Anker – Senior – Wide Receiver/Safety

He took over at safety during the second game of his sophomore year, and never looked back. A genuine playmaker that can get to most balls that safeties can’t. He led the county in pass deflections last season, and could very well do it again. He also could emerge as a playmaker on offense, and is already one of the top punt returners around.

Isaiah Stanley – Senior – Wide Receiver

Another great season by Stanley could put him with over 100 career receptions, which would make him the 20th player in Whatcom County history to accomplish that feat. He makes playing wide receiver look easy… it’s not. He could also get some run in the defensive backfield this season.

Who will be Lynden’s break out player?

Chris Elenbaas – Senior – Running Back/Inside Linebacker

It’s rare that I have a senior as my break out player, but Lynden is a rare team. The graduation of Taivin VanDalen opens the door for Elenbaas to show what he can do at inside linebacker, and he’s going to open some eyes. He can also spell Lynden’s main two running backs if needed.
