FERNDALE 3, MERIDIAN 2

Once senior Ellie Call spiked the winning point in the fifth and final set, it was pure bedlam in the Golden Eagle gym as the student section ran on the court to celebrate with the 2021 Northwest Conference Champions. After Ferndale won the first set, the Trojans stormed back to win the next two. The Golden Eagles came back strong in the fourth set to tie it up, and dominated the final set 15-3 for the ultimate victory. Senior outside hitters Alyvia Semu and Kaelee Bungard had huge nights. Semu totaled 23 kills, 16 digs and three aces, while Bungard added 19 kills and 23 digs. Senior Avery Schneider showed pure dominance at times with 17 kills and 10 digs. Brooklyn Cagle dished out an outstanding 66 assists, and Mallory Butenschoen dug out 28. For Meridian, Finnley Claeys had a double-double of her own with 12 kills and 17 digs, while Jolena Hoefer added 14 kills and nine digs. Emry Claeys and Skyleigh James combined for 15 kills and five blocks. Avery Neal totaled 26 digs and Hayden Claeys stuffed the stat sheet with 43 assists, three aces, three kills and three blocks.

MOUNT BAKER 3, MOUNT VERNON 0

The Mountaineers got their seventh win of the season by defeating the Bulldogs 25-19, 25-12 and 25-20. Grace LaVergne led the way with six aces, five kills, 17 assists and 24 digs, while senior Trinity Anderson added 10 kills and eight digs. Rylee Ross and Hayley Jimmie combined for 21 digs.
