LYNDEN 3, MERIDIAN 2

The Lions were able to snap the Trojans’ undefeated season by besting them in five sets. Meridian won the first set 29-27, and Lynden took the second set 25-18. The Trojans came back to narrowly win the third set 25-23, but the Lions won the next two sets, 25-20 and 15-8. Sophomore Grace Rice stuffed the stat sheet with 34 assists, 13 digs, four kills, four aces and four blocks. Mya VanderYacht added 20 digs and three aces, while Lucy White added six aces and six digs. Outside hitters Ashley Shumate and Haylee Koetje had impressive

performances once again. Shumate had 18 kills and 13 digs, and Koetje poured in 12 kills and 24 digs. Although Meridian suffered its first loss of the season, a bigger loss was the injury to Malaysia Smith in the first set. Hayden Claeys stepped in, and played well, distributing 32 assists. Finnley Claeys added 16 kills and 15 digs, and Jolena Hoefer had 15 kills and 13 digs. Skyleigh James and Emry Claeys also had strong performances at the net, each with nine kills and two blocks, and Avery Neal dug out 27.

MOUNT BAKER 3, BLAINE 0

Ross

The Mountaineers won their sixth match of the season by sweeping the Borderites, 25-13, 26-24 and 25-22. Trinity Anderson and Grace LaVergne each had nine kills, while Anderson added 13 digs and two aces and LaVergne had 15 digs and three aces. Rylee Ross had five kills to go along with a team-high 16 digs and a pair of aces. Taite Reardon played great in the middle with five kills and three blocks and Annalee Cohn added 13 digs and an ace.
