MOUNT BAKER 3, BLAINE 0

In the first round of the 1A district playoffs, the Mountaineers eliminated the Borderites in three straight sets, 25-10, 25-20 and 25-14. Middle hitters Haylee Jimmie and Taite Reardon combined for 11 kills and three blocks, while Grace LaVergne was all over the court with six aces, 12 kills, 10 digs and 14 assists. Trinity Anderson added eight kills and 10 aces, Ryle Ross dug out 14 and freshman Annalee Cohn dished out 14 assists.

Bungard

FERNDALE 3, OAK HARBOR 0

The WIldcats came out with a lot of energy, and a strong defense as they gave the Golden Eagles everything they could handle early on, but Ferndale ultimately prevailed 26-24, 25-20 and 25-8. Senior Kaelee Bungard led with 15 kills, and senior Alyvia Semu added 14 kills with a .500 kill percentage. Junior Brooklyn Cagle handed out 43 assists and also had three aces. The Golden Eagles won their first NWC Championship since 2018.

VanderYacht

ANACORTES 3, LYNDEN 1

After splitting the first two sets, the Seahawks came away with the victory. Grace Rice ran the offense with 31 assists, and did well defensively with 13 digs and four blocks. Mya VanderYacht also had a big game defensively with 22 digs, while Ashley Shumate had 14 kills and Halyee Koetje contributed with seven kills and 12 digs.
