THE FEATURED FOUR

Tucker Harrison – Senior – Quarterback/Safety

One of the few returning starting quarterbacks in Whatcom County. He has great touch on his passes, and a strong enough arm to throw the traditional Trojan deep ball. He also scored a touchdown on the ground last season, and can play safety on defense.

Bryce Johnson – Senior – Tight End/Outside Linebacker

A first-year varsity player last season, and ended up leading the team in receiving. This season, he will be moved inside to tight end and outside linebacker. A great athlete that could become the best tight end in the county.

Daniel Short – Senior – Wide Receiver/Cornerback

Another first-year varsity player from last season, and another great athlete on the outside. Big things are expected of Short on both sides of the ball, and it will be exciting to see what numbers he could put up with a full season.

Hunter Jones – Junior – Running Back/Safety

Joel Pears, Sean Hurlbut, Bryce Vandenhaak. Just a few of the Meridian offensive weapons of past years. Players that will lineup all over the field on offense, take hand offs, and catch passes, and probably lead the team in both. Jones falls into that category.

Who will be Meridian’s break-out player?

Taye Binta – Junior – Running Back/Linebacker

He was used sparingly in the return game last season, but I expect a bigger workload this fall. A true playmaker on both sides of the ball, and with two more seasons remaining, he could become one of the Meridian greats.
