This Day in Whatcom County Football History – October 4th

On this day in Whatcom County football history:

1985: Lynden senior wide receiver Les Powers set a school record with 155 receiving yards in a 27-14 win over Meridian. He accomplished this on just four catches, and he turned two of them into touchdowns. His school record stood for 13 years.

1991: Ferndale junior receiver Jed Dawson set a school record by catching nine passes in a 29-7 loss to Garfield. The pass-happy Golden Eagles of the early 90’s benefited a lot of numbers for the receivers, and Dawson’s school record still stands today.
