Lady Blackhawks Soar Into Trophy Day

SPOKANE – Lummi Nation survived a late-game comeback from the Eagles to pull out the 38-35 victory over Yakama Tribal on Friday afternoon.

Despite being knocked out of the game the night before, eighth-grade guard Jordan Reeder came back with a vengeance as she led the Blackhawks with 13 points.

Senior forward Ailina Rabang played a complete game with with seven points, nine rebounds and an astounding eight steals, and junior guard Jemma James nearly matched her as she finished with eight points, eight rebounds and five steals.

One key player for Lummi Nation was senior guard Brianna Metteba who kept numerous possessions alive with her seven offensive rebounds. She finished with a team-high 10 total rebounds.

The win sends the Lady Blackhawks into tomorrow where they will face Pateros at 9:30 in the morning. The winner of that game will finish in 4th place, and the loser will place sixth.
