It didn’t look good for the Lady Blackhawks as the Warriors had possession of the ball with the game tied at 45-45 with 11.7 seconds left in regulation. ACH brought the ball across the timeline, and it was then stolen by senior guard Brianna Metteba who took it all the way to the rim, but her shot attempt came just a second too late, and the game went into overtime.

It was all Lummi Nation in the extra period, as the Blackhawks put up more points in the four-minute overtime than they did in the entire eight-minute fourth quarter. They also held the Warriors to just three points in extra play.

After scoring seven of her team’s nine points in the fourth quarter, eighth-grade guard Jordan Reeder scored the first seven points of overtime for Lummi Nation. They were followed up by a pair of foul shots hit by sophomore center Celestine James, as well as one free throw each from junior Jemma James and senior Ailina Rabang.

James ended with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and five steals, all while playing nearly every second of the game.

Reeder finished with 17 points, and Rabang added 12 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Lummi Nation will have the late game once again and will battle second-ranked Garfield-Palouse at 9PM in Spokane.
