Bellingham 46, Ferndale 41

It was 2-0 in favor of the Bayhawks for most of the first quarter but with a little over two minutes left the shots finally started falling for both teams. The offenses came to life in the second quarter and turned a 7-5 game into a 20 point tie at the halftime buzzer.

Bellingham charged out of the locker room to score six unanswered points, taking control of the momentum and the lead. Roughly 14 minutes later, Bayhawk junior forward Merrit Jensen found herself at the free throw for her second of two shots. With 22 seconds left in the game, the made free throw made it a two-basket game for Bellingham, which helped her team win.
The Bayhawks led in scoring by the 16 points of senior center Mary Lockhart and the 13 points of Jensen. Jensen also grabbed a team-high 15 rebounds.
Ferndale was led in scoring by the 13 points of freshman guard Mia Collins and the 12 points of senior guard Kayla Washington. The Golden Eagles were without three of their starters.

Lynden 75, Burlington-Edison 24

It was another strong first performance for the Lions who led 53-15 at the half before taking their 62nd straight win.
All-State junior guard Finley Parcher was 10-of-14 from the floor as she finished with 23 points, seven steals and five assists.
Senior forward Payton Mills had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-9 shooting, and senior forward Rian Stephan wasn’t far behind with 12 points and seven boards.
Izzie Stephan, Reese Nyhoff and Jules Slayton all came of the bench and hit deep balls for Lynden as well.

Sehome 61, Lakewood 54

After a tight first quarter, the Mariners went on a 21-8 run in the second quarter. They then withstood a strong push by the Cougars in the second half to grab the conference win at home.
Junior forward Elyse Panagos was extremely efficient as she made 7-of-9 from the field, and she also posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Taylor Turrell led the team with 20 points, while she and senior guard Keira Reeves each grabbed four steals.
Senior center Aspen Barge also impressed in the paint as she ended her night with seven points, eight rebounds and six blocks.

The Lyncs held a slight 1-point advantage going into the final quarter of play on the road against the 4A Vikings, but, they couldn’t hold on as they dropped just their second game of the season.
Lynden Christian, which is still unbeaten in conference play, was led by senior guard Ella Fritts who finished with 18 points.
Sophomore guard Tyra Dykstra added 16 points, including a trio of three-pointers.
