The Lady Blackhawks wrapped up their regular season with another league championship after taking down the Hawks at home.

Lummi Nation was able to total 32 offensive rebounds and 30 steals, which led to 50 more shot attempts than their opponent.

Leading the charge was junior guard Jemma James who ended with 18 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

Eighth grade guard Jordan Reeder finished with 17 points, five steals and four assists, and she also made 4-of-10 from beyond the arc, and senior forward Ailina Rabang had 14 points, eight steals, six rebounds and five assists.

Senior guard Brianna Metteba added six steals and four assists, while she and junior center Celestine James each pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Lyncs got back into the winning column at home against the Cougars as they outrebounded the 2A squad 43-10.

Lynden Christian led 44-24 at the half, and didn’t allow a single field goal in the third quarter before picking up the win on senior night.

Senior guard Ella Fritts played her usual complete game as she finished with 19 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists.

Sophomore guard Tyra Dykstra connected on 4-of-10 from deep and she had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Junior center Jocelyn Eshuis scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and senior forward Sara VanLoo added 10 points and a team-high six assists.

Bernardy

After three quarters of play, the Trojans looked up to the scoreboard above Diane Axelson court and found themselves down 43-34. Moments later, a steal and score by junior guard Eden Bernardy with five minutes left in the game prompted a timeout by the Cubs, as Meridian had scored the first eight points of the final period and were down by just one.

One minute of gametime later, Bernardy found senior center Taya Benson in the lane for two points, and the Trojans took a 44-43 lead.

The lead then changed hands multiple times, and Meridian inbounded the ball with 27 seconds left in the game, down 51-50. Bernardy crossed mid-court, used a screen that was set by Benson and she kicked it out to junior guard Amelia Koning who connected on a 3-point shot from the top of the key.

Sedro-Woolley’s shot was missed with four seconds left in the game and the Trojans held on for the win.

Bernardy led all scorers with 18 points, and she also had team-highs with eight rebounds and six assists.

Junior forward Maddy Swanson added 11 points as she hit a trio of three-pointers, while forwards Kaitlyn Storgaard and Madyn Cline-Malarz each grabbed seven rebounds.

Mills

Machine-like precision led to the victory for the Lions, their 67th in a row, as they scored the first 47 points of the game on their way to the deciding road win.

After one quarter of play, Lynden was 15-of-18 from the field, and they finished by scorching the net by shooting over 70% for the game.

Senior forward Payton Mills couldn’t miss as she finished 8-for-8 from the field with 16 point and a team-high eight rebounds.

Junior guard Lexi Hermanutz also found herself shooting 100% as she made all six of her shots, and she finished with 13 points and a team-high three steals.

Junior guard Finley Parcher had a team-high 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting, and senior guard Reese Nyhoff dished out four assists.

The Pioneers came out strong and scored 14 points in the first quarter while holding the Golden Eagels scoreless. Both teams scored six points each in the second quarter, but Nooksack Valley extended its lead in the third quarter behind a trifecta of three-pointers by junior forward Kaitlyn Biondolillo as the Pioneers picked up the win.

Senior center Grace DeHoog grabbed a season-high 30 rebounds, which went along with her 14 points.

Larrabee

Senior guard Payton Bartl neared a triple-double as she finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, and senior guard Natalie VanLiew added 10 points.

Ferndale was led by junior guard Brooklyn Larrabee who led her team with 12 points, seven assists and six steals.

Senior guard Kayla Washington had eight points, and freshman guard Mia Collins scored seven points, while sophomore forward Ari Gilday had nine rebounds and four steals.
