If you’re wondering how badly the Storm wanted to keep their season alive, all you had to do was watch the second quarter of their 2A district tournament consolation game. Squalicum shut the Seahawks out 18-0, and led 31-12 at the half before taking the win, and picking up its 20th win of the season.

It was a balanced scoring attach, and junior point guard Lexi Robbins was able to deliver the ball at all the appropriate times as she finished with eight assists. She also scored 12 points, along with junior forward Tiana Thompson, and they were paced by freshman center Avery Kettman who finished with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field.

Junior forward Addison Kettman grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds while also collecting three steals and a blocked shot. Junior guard Colee Harper scored seven points, and junior center Jazmin Singh-Sanchez was right behind her with five points.

Squalicum is now one game away from making the state playoffs for the first time since 2010, and the Storm will now host Selah at 3:00 on Saturday for that final, elusive spot into the 2A state tournament.

In this 3A district elimination game, the Golden Eagles did a lot of great things. They had their second-most points in a game all season. They made over three quarters of their foul shots, and they also connected on nine 3-pointers, but it wouldn’t be enough as they fell on the road and ended their season.

Both playing in their final game, seniors Abbey White and Kayla Washington each scored a team-high 13 points, while senior Jillea Fox was forced to watch from the sidelines with an injury that was caused earlier in the season.

Junior guard Kenzie Dawson scored 12 points, and White grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Junior guard Brooklyn Larrabee added nine points to go with her eight assists and five boards. Forwards Kayla Lee and Ari Gilday each scored seven points, and they combined for 13 rebounds.

Ferndale’s season came to a close with a record of 9-15.
