Lynden Christian 58, Nooksack Valley 27

For the second year in a row, the Lyncs defeated the Pioneers in the 1A district championship game, and will advance to the state tournament.
It was all Lynden Christian from the beginning as they raced out to an 18-4 lead after one quarter, and was up 37-13 at the half.
Senior guard Ella Fritts collected a team-high five steals, which helped lead to her 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting.
Junior center Jocelyn Eshuis was the recipient of some great entry passes, and she responded with 12 points in the paint, and freshman center Jess DeJong came off the bench and finished with 10 points and six rebounds.

Senior forward Sara VanLoo led the Lyncs with eight rebounds, and junior guard Ellie Pierce led with five assists.
Nooksack Valley was led in scoring by senior guard Payton Bartl who had 11 points.
Senior center Grace DeHoog added 10 points and 12 rebounds, and senior guard Chayleigh Davis handed out four assists.
The Pioneers will face the winner of Friday night’s Mount Baker/Meridian matchup at 1:00 on Saturday at Lynden High School for the final state-playoff spot.

Lummi Nation 71, Concrete 23

The Lady Blackhawks secured a spot in the 1B state playoffs by defeating the Lions in the quarterfinal round of the tri-district tournament.
Lummi Nation turned Concrete over 33 times, and was also able to grab 17 more rebounds than its opponent, which led to many more possessions.
Eighth grade guard Jordan Reeder led her team with 21 points, while hitting four 3-pointers. She also finished with 10 rebounds, six steals and four assists.
Junior guard Jemma James neared a quadruple-double once again with 11 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds and eight steals, and senior guard Brianna Metteba added 13 points and 10 boards.
Forwards Ailina Rabang and LaRaya Dennis also each scored 10 points for Lummi Nation who will take on Crosspoint Christian at 4:00 on Thursday at Sequim High School in the semifinal round of the tri-district tournament.
