When there’s the possibility of playing your final game of the year, it brings out the ultimate desire of being victorious. Both teams felt it, and it was a one-score game at the half.
The Trojans were able to pull away in the second half and keep their season alive, and the season for the Borderites came to a close with a record of 4-18.
Meridian was led by the relentless force of junior guard Eden Bernardy who had 16 points, eight rebounds and nine steals. She also went 10-for-14 from the foul line.

Junior forward Lola Gibbs was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line, and she finished with eight points and seven boards. Junior guard Maddy Swanson sunk a pair of three-pointers for six points, and junior guard Amelia Koning‘s quick hands enabled her to grab six steals.
Blaine made 11 field goals on the night, and senior forward Aaliyah Bowman was responsible for eight of them as she finished with 24 points and six rebounds.
Senior guard Brietta Sandell also grabbed six rebounds to tie for the team lead, and junior guard Kate Koreski chipped in with five assists and four steals.
The Trojans will be at Lynden Christian on Friday to take on the Lyncs at 5:30 in the semifinal round of the 1A district tournament.
