Lynden Christian 1, Bellingham 0

Sophomore Preston Dykstra recorded five saves and secured the shutout win for the Lyncs. The lone goal came from junior Harvest Howell who scored on a penalty kick in the ninth minute.

Squalicum 8, Blaine 0

The Storm continued their hot start with their third consecutive shutout win at home. Freshman Cole Oswalt scored a pair of goals from Squalicum, and senior Jayden Bak focused on finding open teammates as he finished with four assists. Other Storm goals came from senior Isaac Grimes, juniors Maddox Strickland and Nico Jurado-Reyes and sophomores Rylan Jenkins and Crew Johnson as well as freshman Eli Weener.

Sehome 3, Burlington-Edison 1

The Tigers scored the first goal of the game about halfway through the first half, but the Mariners tied it up when sophomore Colin Burns connected on a header on a cross from senior Mason Ivcevic. Sehome took the lead in the second half when freshman Chase Harrison’s corner kick was headed in by Ivcevic from point-blank range. Harrison then scored in the final minutes to secure the win for the Mariners.

Ferndale 9, Mount Baker 1

In what was supposed to be a match against the Golden Eagle JV squad, rainouts, reschedules and the movement of venues didn’t allow Ferndale’s “B” team to be available, so the Mountaineers faced the Golden Eagles varsity team. Ferndale rested their key players after 20 minutes, and senior Greyson Beier and junior Sebastian Chala each scored three goals. The Golden Eagles also got a score from freshman Silas Whitkop, senior Andrey Savenko and sophomore Axxton Bullard. Mount Baker’s goal came off the foot of sophomore Enoc Smith.

Meridian 3, Lynden 3

The Lions were up 2-0 after 10 minutes of play behind goals from Hale Van Dyk and Markus Koenen, but the Trojans were able to come back behind goals from Sagar Virk and Skyler Rowe. Meridian then took a 3-2 lead late in the contest when the ball was accidentally kicked into the net on a pass back to the goalkeeper. Lynden was able to right the mistake with a late goal from Nate Castellon.
