A Mantaj Singh free-throw gave the Golden Eagles a 49-47 lead with 30 seconds to go in the game. The Bulldogs missed a three-pointer, but got their own rebound and quickly called timeout with 11 seconds left to draw up a play.

Mount Vernon then inbounded the ball, found a player driving to the hoop, but the layup was well defended, and a foul underneath by the Bulldogs put Ferndale sophomore Trey Munson at the foul line with six seconds left to play.

He missed the first, but hit the second one to give the Golden Eagles a three-point lead, and one more defensive stand was needed to win the game. Following a timeout, the Mount Vernon shot was well defended, and Ferndale picked up the huge road win.

Singh led the way with 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

Senior guard Cooper Vincent added eight points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and junior center Luke Baader blocked three shots.
