Meridian 64, Nooksack Valley 63
The Trojan’s pressure defense turned into instant offense in the first quarter, as they ripped off 25 points in the opening period. They then continued the onslaught in the second quarter by outscoring the Pioneers 17-9, and Meridian held a 42-24 lead at the half.

Nooksack Valley made adjustments at the half, with one of them being trying to find out how to slow down junior guard Gabe Galbraith who made all nine of his field goal attempts in the first half for 21 points.
With more focus on Galbraith, other Trojans needed to step up, and during the process, the Pioneers slowly started to come back.
Nooksack Valley was still down by double-digits going into the fourth quarter, but a late barrage of three-point makes by senior guard Cole Coppinger helped cut the deficit to a two-point lead, and junior forward Dane Ackerman then tied the game at 63-63 with 11 seconds left when he hit a turnaround jumper from about seven feet out.
Out of timeouts, the Trojans quickly inbounded the ball and flew up the court. Junior guard Pierce Brzozowski was fouled with less than a second to go, and the fate of the game was in his hands at the foul line.

He made the first of two free throws, and Meridian was able to hold off Nooksack Valley just enough to get the win.
Galbraith led all scorers with 23 points, and senior center Daniel Larsen had 10 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. Brzozowski finished with 10 rebounds, seven assists to go along with his five points, all from the foul line.
Coppinger led the Pioneers, in his first game back from a finger injury, with 17 points and eight rebounds.
Senior guard Owen Wichers ended his night with 14 points, and senior guard Jayden Anderson had 10 points and four assists.
