The Bayhawks were able to keep their season alive, but the Tomahawks didn’t make it easy, as Bellingham won its district play-in game at home.

It was a close game throughout, but the Bayhawks were able to grab 25 offensive rebounds and many more offensive opportunities than Marysville-Pilchuck.

Leading the rebound charge was senior center Barrett Johnson who grabbed 15 boards, 10 of them on the offensive glass. He also connected on 7-of-12 from the floor for 16 points.

Senior forward Joe Harward‘s relentlessness resulted in 28 points, on 11-of-19 shooting, 12 rebounds and four steals, and junior guard Calvin VanHofwegen added eight points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

Bellingham also got a huge spark in the second half when senior guard Cyrus Campos was inserted into the contest. He hit two huge three-pointers in big moments, which really changed the momentum in the second half.

With the win, the Bayhawks advance to play at Lynden on Wednesday night at 6:00.
