Jorgenson

In the 2A district championship game, The Lions and Seahawks traded leads during the first half with Anacortes holding onto a five point lead at halftime, 29-24.

In the second half, the Lions found momentum and went on a 6-2 run as well as a 9-2 run to regain the lead.

Holding a 42-34 lead at the end of the third, Lynden continued to battle throughout the fourth quarter. The Seahawks took the momentum, and the lead, but Lynden senior center Ty Jorgenson hit a three-pointer with less than four minutes to go to put the Lions back on top.

Both teams traded leads from there and with 1.3 seconds to go, Anacortes took a three-point lead at the foul line, which ultimately forced Lynden to take its last shot from beyond half court and to no avail.

Jorgenson led all players with 21 points on 9-of-19 shooting. He also led the Lions with seven rebounds and four blocked shots.

Junior guard Gordy Bedlington made all four of his field goal attempts as he ended with eight points, and senior forward Spencer Adams added seven points, five boards and three assists.

Lynden will await its draw for the 2A state tournament.
