The Trojans scored seven runs in the bottom of the second inning, and the Mountaineers were unable to recover after that. Highlighting the second inning was a two-run homerun by freshman centerfielder Lincoln Brzozowski. He also led Meridian with a pair of hits. Trey Alexander got the win on the mound after allowing just two hits and striking out two batters over three innings. Landon Rowley pitched the final three innings and allowed two hits while striking out three. Mount Baker sophomore Tyson Barksdale crushed a double, and pitched a clean first inning, but was taken out of the game after an injury at home plate while tagging out a runner.

It took a while for the Lyncs to play their first game of the season, and they responded by dominating on the road. Junior slugger Eli Stamps put his stamp on the game early with a solo homerun in the first inning, and that set the tone as Lynden Christian went on to score seven more runs in the following inning. Middle infielders Brayden Engels and Logan Davis each had a pair of hits, Eli Maberry drove in three runs and the Lyncs also showed great patience as they reach base 13 times with a walk. Sam Kok allowed just four hits and struck out four batters in the five-inning victory.

The Lions battled through six errors in the field to win the conference game on the road. Lynden scored twice in the top of the first when Spencer Adams knocked in Gordy Bedlington and Joe Bense drove in Matthew Carroll. Bense then walked in the third inning, stole second base, advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scored on an error to make it 3-0 Lions. Carroll pitched into the fifth inning and struck out seven batters as he picked up the victory. Bense closed the door in the seventh to capture his first save of the season.

The Golden Eagles were unable to get things going on the road in the non-conference loss to the Panthers. Ferndale’s lone run came in the top of the sixth when Braylon O’Breen doubled, got to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on another wild pitch. The Golden Eagles also got a pair of hits from first baseman Carson Brown, and catcher Chance Hatchett also had a knock. Sophomore pitcher Tracen Pazaski struck out four batters over three innings, but was saddled with six walks.

Anacortes 9, Bellingham 0
It was all Seahawks as they ripped off nine hits offensively without striking out once, and they played flawless defense on their way to the home victory of the Bayhawks who committed five errors, which turned into numerous unearned runs. Bellingham got base hits from Joe Harward, Kai Nelson and Beckett Fisher. Nelson scattered four hits over four innings of work, but took the loss.
