Playing in the elements can be tough, especially early in the season for pitchers as both teams walked 10 times each, but it was the Storm that was able to take advantage of the free passes. The Borderites led 2-1 going into the bottom of the fourth where the first three Squalicum batters reached base with a walk. Cameron Schmitt then rapped a line drive to right field which scored two runs and gave the Storm a 3-2 lead. The rest of the inning included four more walks, a single and a hit by pitch as Squalicum finished with eight runs scored in the inning. Hudson Johnson picked up the win for the Storm as he went four innings and struck out four batters.

The Golden Eagles scored twice in the top of the third inning when Braylon O’Breen scored on an infield error and Chance Hatchett scored on a single off the bat from Carson Brown. The Mustangs did them one better in the bottom of the inning and were up 3-2 after three innings. The score remained 3-2 for a while, until the bottom of the sixth when errors took over and Redmond scored six unearned runs to break the game wide open. Ferndale’s lone hits came off the bat of Brown and Tracen Pazaski. Fenton Vasak struck out six batters over the first three innings but picked up the loss.

Friday Harbor 12, Mount Baker 2
The Mountaineers got on the board first when Kamden Moa was hit by a pitch, stole a base and then scored on a base hit from Tyson Barksdale. The Wolverines scored twice in the bottom of the second inning, but Mount Baker fought back to tie it up in the top of third inning when Moa doubled, stole third base and then scored on a passed ball. Friday Harbor would then go on to score the last 10 runs of the game.
