A sacrifice fly by Hudson Neff in the bottom of the seventh won the game for the Mariners. The joyous occasion became larger a few hours later when longtime baseball coach Gary Hatch had his number 10 retired. Hatch collected 532 wins and three state championships as the Sehome head baseball coach from 1980-2016. Dozens of former players came out to congratulate Coach Hatch on his big day.

The line to meet and greet Coach Hatch was still plenty long by the time the Mariners scored in the bottom of the first inning, and Sehome held a strong 4-0 advantage going into the third. Riley Carlson drove in three runs while Hudson Neff reached base four times, stole three bases and scored three times. Gunnar Tweit picked up the win on the mound after going six innings and striking out four batters while giving up just three hits.

Trojan junior Nate Payne threw five innings of no-hit ball and struck out seven batters, but the Tigers were able to score two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win. Pierce Brzowowski tripled and Trey Alexander doubled to lead the Meridian offense, which outhit Burlington-Edison 6-2.

The Bayahwks were unable to get the bats going at home as the lone base hit came from freshman Brody Garat who also struck out four batters in four innings of relief.

Seven errors by the Storm led to nine unearned runs for the Spartans, and Squalicum was never able to get into the game. The Storm got base hits from Hudson Johnson, Tanner Berg and Christian Vermeulen. Jericho Tanner took the loss, but struck out three batters over two innings.
