Sehome 3, Sedro-Woolley 2
It took a little while, but the Mariners finally broke through and scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning when Jad Geiger’s sacrifice fly scored Hudson Neff. Neff scored again two innings later on a groundout, and Gunnar Tweit did the same on a similar play later in the inning. Neff picked up the win on the mound after not allowing a hit and striking out five over four innings. Max Braunstein came on in relief and shut the Cubs down for two innings before Sedro-Woolley made it interesting in the top of the seventh. Travis Mead came on to pitch the seventh inning and struck out the first batter he faced. The next batter singled for the first Cub hit of the game, and the next batter reached on an error. Next came a passed ball, a walk and a ground out, and just like that it was a one-run game with two outs in the seventh, but Mead got the next batter to pop up to end the game.
