ARCHBISHOP MURPHY 3, SQUALICUM 1

Roselli

The Wildcats finished 4th in state last year at the 2A level, and rarely had a set taken from them throughout the season, and the Storm gave them everything they could handle in the first match of the season.

Archbishop Murphy won the first set 25-14, but Squalicum battled back to take the second set 25-19 before dropping the next two sets 25-15 and 25-17.

Junior setter Alyssa Roselli had a strong overall performance with 19 assists, four digs, two kills and two blocks.

Senior Jolie Paz had a team-high eight kills to go with seven kills, while junior Bronwyn Jones led with eight digs.

The Storm defense at the net was extremely strong with senior Archer Burns and freshman Avery Kettman tallying three blocks each.
