SEHOME 3, MERIDIAN 0

Niewiadomski

The Mariners quickly regrouped from Monday’s five-set loss at Ferndale and took it out on the Trojans on senior night by defeating them in straight sets, 25-17, 25-14 and 25-23.

The Sehome defense stood out against the strong Meridian attackers as seniors Makenna Andrews and Hayden Niewiadomski, as well as junior Paige Flory, had 14 digs each. Sophomore Taylor Turrell also had 11 digs to go with her 31 assists.

Niewiadomski had a team-high 13 kills, and Flory followed with 10. Senior Anya Winter and sophomore Jillian Parfet each finished with a pair of aces.

The Trojans statistics have not been fully completed at the time of this posting, but will be added to the player’s totals once they are finished.

 

NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, BELLINGHAM 1

Palumbo

The Pioneers won 25-16 in the first set, but the Bayhawks turned it around in the second set and won 25-19. Bellingham’s intensity remained in set number three, and Nooksack Valley had to fight hard to eventually take it 26-24 before winning the fourth set 25-19.

Senior Grace DeHoog led the offensive attack with 14 kills, and junior Elizabeth DeLange finished with 12 kills and six blocks.

Lockhart

Senior Payton Bartl had 39 assists, nine digs and four aces, and senior Halle Palumbo returned from a knee injury to lead her team with seven aces.

The Bayhawks were led by senior Mary Lockhart who finished with 12 kills, 10 digs, two blocks and an ace.

Sophomore Sonoma Smith also had a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs, and senior Jayda Knutsen contributed with seven kills, eight digs and three aces.

Junior Bailey Burge led her team with 13 digs, and junior Lulu Munro dished out 29 assists.

 

FERNDALE 3, SQUALICUM 0

Larrabee

The Golden Eagles finished their regular season on a roll as they defeated the Storm 25-13, 25-14 and 25-21.

Junior Brooklyn Larrabee led the way with 33 assists, 13 digs and five aces, with her biggest beneficiary being junior Svetlana Baydak who powered home 14 kills. The 6-foot tall outside hitter also collected nine digs, two aces and 1.5 blocks.

Roselli

Senior Katrina Ferry rounded up 18 digs, while fellow seniors Caitlyn Berg and Grace O’Breen had six digs each.

Sophomore Adelle Overson finished with nine kills, four digs and 2.5 blocks, and seniors Kristen Solomon and Jillea Fox combined for 10 kills, four digs and four blocks.

Squalicum was led by junior Alyssa Roselli who had 11 assists, seven digs and three aces.

Junior Bronwyn Jones had 11 digs, while senior Jolie Paz and junior Penelope Durias each added five kills.

 

BLAINE 3, OAK HARBOR 0

Ellis

The Borderites are peaking at the right time, with the district playoffs coming up on Saturday, as they made quick work of the 3A Wildcats 25-12, 25-17 and 25-14.

Senior setter Ainslee Ellis not only had 23 assists and 10 digs, but her four aces led the strong Blaine serving attack which totaled 13 aces on the night.

Senior Carly Saunders led the Borderites with seven kills and 14 digs, while also picking up three aces of her own.

Senior Ari Johnson finished with five kills and 10 digs, and junior Teia Dube added six kills, five digs and three aces.
