NOOKSACK VALLEY 3, SQUALICUM 1

Juergens

The Pioneers got the win on the road, but the Storm didn’t make it easy as Nooksack Valley battled to take the first set 26-24, and went on a big run to win the second set 25-12.

Squalicum came together as a group and won 27-25 in the third set before the Pioneers ended the night with a 25-21 win in set number four.

6-foot-1 senior Grace DeHoog unleashed 17 kills to lead Nooksack Valley, while senior libero Avery Juergens led with 12 digs.

Paz

Senior Payton Bartl added 27 assists, and junior Elizabeth DeLange finished with three blocks.

Storm senior Jolie Paz elevated through the air for 18 kills to go with eight digs, while junior Alyssa Roselli led Squalicum with 16 digs and 27 assists.

Senior Archer Burns totaled six kills, junior Tiana Thompson had 4.5 blocks and freshman Avery Kettman added five kills, eight digs and three blocks.

 

SEHOME 3, MOUNT VERNON 0

Niewiadomski

After a close 26-24 win by the Mariners in the first set, Sehome poured it on at home to take the next two sets 25-11 and 25-9 to stay undefeated on the season.

Senior outside hitter Hayden Niewiadomski had one of her biggest offensive outputs of her amazing career as she totaled 22 kills, eight digs and three aces to lead the Mariners.

Junior Paige Flory had a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs, and she also led her team with six aces.

Sophomore Taylor Turrell dished out 27 assists, and senior libero Makenna Andrews held down the back line with 15 digs.

FERNDALE 3, BURLINGTON-EDISON 0

Baydak

The Golden Eagles went on the road and swept the Tigers 25-16, 25-22 and 25-18, and have still yet to give up a single set in conference play this season.

Junior Svetlana Baydak powered home 11 kills to lead Ferndale, while senior Katrina Ferry and junior Brooklyn Larrabee each finished with 14 digs and four aces.

Larrabee also had 20 assists and six kills added to her ledger, as junior Sienna Brionez had six kills and senior Jillea Fox finished with five kills.

 

OAK HARBOR 3, BELLINGHAM 1

Smith

The Bayhawks went on the road and took the first set 25-16, but the Wildcats clawed their way back and took the next three sets, 25-15, 25-22 and 28-26.

Bellingham came close multiple times to pushing the match to a fifth set, but just couldn’t close the deal.

Leading the way was sophomore Sonoma Smith who finished with 16 kills and six digs, and junior Bailey Burge led the team with 16 digs and seven aces.

Senior Jayda Knutsen had eight kills, eight digs and three aces, while junior Merritt Jensen had six kills, four digs and two blocks, and junior Lulu Munro added 29 assists.
