  • Meridian 1, Mount Baker 0 (3-2 PK)

It was going to be the final game of the season for one of these teams, as the two were playing for a spot in the semi-final round of the 1A district tournament.

Both teams fought hard all game, and after regulation it was a scoreless tie. Two overtime periods were played, and it was still knotted up at zero.

It came down to penalty kicks, and after each team attempted five, it was 2-2. Trojan senior Hailey Brooks was elected to kick the sixth penalty shot for her team, and she scored to give her team the lead. The Mountaineer’s kick was unsuccessful, and Meridian will now move on to play Lynden Christian at Blaine High School on Saturday at 1:30.
