Panagos

Although it didn’t count against the conference win/loss record, the two rivals battled it out until the very end as the visiting Mariners ultimately rose as the victors.

Sehome was down 24-16 at the half, and managed to outscore the Storm 31-16 in the second half behind the steady play of junior forward Kate Schroeder who all scorers with 14 points. She also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and was 6-of-8 from the foul line.

Robbins

Junior forward Elyse Panagos came off the bench and ignited the Mariners with 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals, and sophomore guard Taylor Turrell added nine points and three assists.

Squalicum was hindered midway through the fourth quarter when junior point guard Lexi Robbins fouled out of the game. She finished her night with 12 points and four assists, both of which led her team.

Addison and Avery Kettman each finished with nine points, and junior forward Tiana Thompson added six points and five blocked shots.

It appeared that the Lady Blackhawks were really looking forward to their opening game of the season as they pounced all over the Eagles to the tune of 41 steals, which led to numerous easy transition baskets.

J. James

Junior point guard Jemma James led way with a triple-double as she posted 26 points, 12 rebounds and 11 steals. In fact, she was just two assists away from a quadruple-double.

Senior forward Ailina Rabang hit 9-of-14 from the floor for 20 points to go along with her 10 assists, seven rebounds and seven steals.

Senior guard Brianna Metteba finished with 13 points and five steals, and eighth-grader Jordan Reeder shined in her varsity debut with 11 points, 11 steals and five boards.

Junior center Celestine James added eight points, 10 rebounds and four steals.

Soares

The Hurricanes hit a pair of three-pointers in the final few minutes of the game to extend their lead to a point in which the Mountaineers were unable to reach.

Junior forward Rebeca Soares led Mount Baker with 14 points, 20 rebounds and six blocks.

Senior forward Reace Brown finished with six points and four rebounds, and senior forward Samiya Powell grabbed six boards.

The lone three-pointer made by the Mountaineers came from freshman Maci Kammenga.

Washington

The Golden Eagles held a 26-25 lead at the midway break, but the Timberwolves were jolted in the third quarter and went on a 17-6 run before fending on Ferndale in the fourth.

Senior guard Kayla Washington led the Golden Eagles with 16 points, including a trio of three pointers.

Ferndale also got 10 points from senior forward Jillea Fox, and eight points from senior guard Abbey White.

The Golden Eagles were hindered by missing 16 foul shots.
