Bellingham 54, Marysville-Getchell 29

The Chargers stayed with the Bayhawks through the first quarter, but Bellingham ran away with it after that as it gave first-year coach Drew McFall a victory in his varsity coaching debut.
The Bayhawks also outscored Marysville-Getchell 17-3 in the third quarter, and senior forward Mary Lockhart led the way with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and nine rebounds.
Junior forward Merritt Jensen also hit on seven of her 11 attempts from the floor as she finished with 16 points and six boards. Sophomore guard Lucy Holland added 11 points and five rebounds, and sophomore Elise Holland had nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
Bellingham also shot 75% from the foul line, 12-of-16.

Blaine 40, Friday Harbor 19

The Borderite defense got after it on the road as they finished with 23 steals as a team as they took care of business on the island.
Leading the defensive charge was senior guard Brietta Sandell who finished with 10 steals to go with her nine points.
Senior forward Aaliyah Bowman led Blaine with 17 points and 14 rebounds, and she finished with five steals as well.
Junior guard Kate Koreski added eight points, eight rebounds, six steals and three assists, and junior Marcella Bring rounded out the scoring with six points.

Mount Baker 51, Orcas Island 21

The Mountaineers began their season with a bang as junior forward Rebeca Soares powered her team with 20 points, 14 rebounds and eight steals on the road.
Sophomore guard Kalyn Abitia had the touch from the outside as she hit three of her four 3-point attempts as she finished with 13 points and six boards.
Senior forward Samiya Powell added seven points, while senior forward Reace Brown had four points, six rebounds and three blocks.
Mount Baker also welcomed back junior guard Violet Fox who finished with five rebounds, three assists, three steals and two points.

Squalicum 56, Sultan 14

It was all Storm from the opening tip as they lead 38-5 at the half before digging deep into the bench to finish out the game in the majority of the second half.
Junior guard Colee Harper had another huge game to start the season as she connected on 7-of-13 from the field and finished with a team-high 15 points. Perhaps even more impressive was her defensive attributes as she totaled a career-high nine steals.
Squalicum’s defense as a team racked up 28 steals, with senior forward Jolie Paz responsible for five of them.
Junior guard Lexi Robbins added 11 points, five assists and three steals, and junior forward Tiana Thompson finished with seven points.
