It was a tight, one-point game after one quarter of play, but the Trojans dominated the rest of the way to grab their first conference win of the season.
Senior center Taya Benson hit 6-of-10 from the floor, and posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Meridian.

She was aided by the nine points and seven boards from junior forward Sierra James. Sophomore forward Madyn Cline-Malarz scored eight points, and junior forward Maddy Swanson added seven points.
Blaine was led by senior forward Aaliyah Bowman who finished with 12 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Junior guard Kate Koreski added five points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

For the Mountaineers to take the next step, a game like this one was needed. They started out fast, had a little hiccup in the third quarter, but then ended the game on a 16-5 run to take the road win over the Tigers.
Junior center Rebeca Soares posted another double-double, this time with 15 points and 17 rebounds.
Junior guard Violet Fox finished with 15 points and nine rebounds, and she also led her team with six steals, four assists and two blocks.
Senior forward Reace Brown and sophomore forward Aurora George each scored eight points for Mount Baker.

Lynden 64, Ferndale 29

After multiple cancellations due to the recent flooding in the area, the Golden Eagles had to wait until last night to finally have their first home game of the year, and wouldn’t you know it, it was against one of the best overall teams in the entire state.
The Lions jumped out to a 17-4 lead after one quarter, and proceeded to score 21 points in each of the next two quarters before picking up the road win.

Senior forward, and University of Hawaii commit, Payton Mills led Lynden with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Junior guards Finley Parcher and Lexi Hermanutz each shot 6-of-10 from the floor for 14 points, and they each also had three steals. Parcher also added eight rebounds and four assists.
Ferndale was led by junior guard Brooklyn Larrabee and senior guard Abbey White, each of whom scored seven points.
Senior guard Kayla Washington added five points and a team-high six rebounds, and senior forward Jillea Fox blocked three shots.

The Braves played the Lady Blackhawks tough for the first quarter, but Lummi Nation continued to get after it the rest of the game to get the road win.
Junior guard Jemma James lit up the scoreboard for 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting, and she also made 4-of-9 from beyond the arc.
Senior forward Ailina Rabang added 15 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and six steals, while junior center Celestine James and eighth grade guard Jordan Reeder each scored six points.
