The Mariners put up double-digit runs, and even out-hit the Seahawks, but in the end it wouldn’t be enough as Sehome fell to Anacortes in the consolation round of the district tournament. Junior Sarah Kruzich did everything in her power to help her team win as she went 4-for-4 with a double, a homerun and six runs batted in. She also struck out seven batters over five innings in the circle. Jacinta Lewis went 2-for-3 with a double, and Rebekah Peterson scored three runs after walking three times, but ultimately a total of seven errors in the field extinguished Sehome’s chances to get back into the game. The Mariner season came to a close with a 5-16 record.
