Melton

It was all Borderites, as they went on a 27-2 run in the second quarter before pulling away with the big home win over the Braves.

Senior guard Landon Melton had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Blaine attack, and junior guard Dawson Dohner led the Borderites with 13 points and seven steals.

Senior guard Kai Kerwin and Melton each had five assists for Blaine, while Kerwin finished with 11 points and senior guard Daniel Banks added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Junior center Gus Dickson powered his way in the paint to eight points and nine rebounds.

Kelley

Senior forward Xavier Kelley showed why he’s one of the top players in the Northwest Conference after putting up 35 points (on 15-of-22 shooting), 14 rebounds and seven assists in the Mariner road win.

Junior guard Quincy Tanovan also showed the shooting touch as he made 10-of-12 from the floor for 25 points as the two combined to hit eight of their 12 three-point attempts.

Senior point guard Nolan Wright directed the traffic to the tune of a team-high eight assists, while senior center Cole Turrell muscled his way to nine points and four rebounds.

Senior guard Klay Jackson hit three of his five deep balls for nine points to go along with his team-high four steals.

Wichers

The Pioneers played great team basketball, and assisted on 21 of their 29 field goals made as they cruised to the road victory over the Turks.

Leading the offense was senior guard Jayden Anderson who hit 5-of-9 shots for 15 points. He also led his team with six assists, and was 3-of-5 from beyond the arc.

Seniors Cole Coppinger and Owen Wichers each chipped in 12 points a piece, as Wichers also totaled four assists and four steals, and senior guard Crew Bauman added eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.

Pazaski

The Golden Eagles held a slight lead going into the final quarter at home, but the Panthers were able to claw their way back into the game before coming out on top.

Sophomore guard Tracen Pazaski finished with 16 points, and was 4-of-6 from three-point land, and senior forward Mantaj Singh also finished with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Senior guard Cooper Vincent scored an efficient 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting and sophomore guard Houston Wills added six points and a team-high three steals.

In the match of the night, the 1B Blackhawks played the 2A Cougars to a tie when the building dealt with power outages.

Lakewood came back from being down to take the lead 64-60 with a little over three minutes left in the game when the lights went out in the building, which led to a 20-minute delay.

The game briefly resumed before the power went out once again, and the two teams moved the game to an auxiliary gym to finish out the fourth quarter, which ended in a 69-69 “no contest”.

Senior point guard Jerome Toby finished with 23 points, nine assists and five steals, while 6-foot-8 senior center Chayce Waite-Kellar added 16 points and 21 rebounds.

The defending 2B state champions also got 18 points, four assists and four steals from junior guard Dyson Edwards.
