The Lyncs jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, but the Bulldogs rallied for 11 straight runs over the following three innings as Lynden Christian’s season came to a close in the first round of the 1A state tournament. The Lyncs scored their final three runs of the season in the top of the seventh when Austin Engels hit a three-run bomb in his final varsity at bat, which gave him six homeruns and 93 runs batted in over his amazing career. He finished 3-for-4 in the game with four RBI’s. Eli Maberry and Treyson Johnson also had a pair of hits for Lynden Christian, who finished the season with a record of 16-9.
