Sehome 5, Ferndale 1

The Golden Eagles committed four errors, but the Mariners did more than capitalize on them as they kept the base paths full with 10 hits. Riley Carlson did a little bit of everything to help Sehome’s cause as he went 3-for-3 at the plate, scored two runs, and he also pitched the final four innings of the game to secure the win for his team. Ryder McGrath gave the Mariners three innings of one-hit ball while Gunnar Anderson and Michael Iliyan each had a pair of hits. Tracen Pazaski singled and doubled to lead the Ferndale offense.

Borderite junior Ashton Vezzetti tossed the best game of his varsity career as he struck out 12 batters, and allowed just one hit, in the shutout win. Bayhawk sophomore Ben Leonard matched him on the mound through the first five innings, but hit the pitch count limit, and was replaced in the sixth inning when Blaine scored five runs. Josh Cochran reached base four times for the Borderites, with two singles and two walks. Bellingham’s lone hit came from junior Joe Harward.

Lakewood 3, Squalicum 2

The Storm took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Hudson Johnson drove a single to left field which scored Davis Miller. The Cougars then went on to score twice in the top of the sixth, and Squalicum was unable to answer. Johnson finished with two hits, and Eljas Lara stole three bases for the Storm. Cameron Schmitt went the distance for the Storm and struck out five batters.

Burlington-Edison 4, Lynden 0

The Lion offense was unable to get going on the road as the Tigers picked up the big conference win. Matthew Carroll struck out 12 batters over five innings, but was saddled with the loss. Conner LeBel, Eli Dimter, Jaydin Oaks and Carroll each had a base hit for Lynden.

Mount Vernon 12, Meridian 2

The Trojans led 2-1 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, but the Bulldogs went off for seven runs, and followed that up with a four-run inning. Jaeger Fyfe went 2-for-3 to lead the Meridian offense, while Nate Payne and Trevyn Crabtree each had a run batted in.

Anacortes 17, Nooksack Valley 3

The Pioneers committed six errors, and did it against a team that you almost have to be perfect against in the Seahawks. Nooksack Valley scored all of its runs in the top of the second inning as Colby Martin, Matthew Blake and Landen Stauffer each stole a base and each crossed home plate.

Oak Harbor 25, Mount Baker 5

The Wildcats held a strong 11-5 lead going into the sixth, but then scored 14 runs in the inning, which included a pair of homeruns from the same player. Magnus Melland singled, walked twice and stole two bases for the Mountaineers, who also got hits from Kamden Moa, Dean Allred and Dylan Moa.
