Current Status: It’s been one of the most productive seasons in recent memory for the Mountaineers, offensively. Finding consistent pitching has been tough. A huge win over Ferndale earlier this week has been a high point of the season that could help spring board into the second half of the conference season, and perhaps land a spot into the post season. The senior leadership has been strong. Four-year starter Kaleb Bass has continued to swing a hot bat all season, and center fielder Carter Backstrom has been one of the toughest outs all year.
